There’s a common misconception that YIMBYs don’t believe in preserving parks - but that is verifiably untrue.
The SF YIMBY movement led the way for making Golden Gate Park more vibrant and pedestrian-friendly in 2022 by working to get Prop. J passed, which now prohibits cars from using JFK drive.
VisionarySF wholeheartedly supports parks and believes that, not only should our government preserve them, but should also work creatively to improve and make them more family-friendly.
Park preservation and building more housing are not mutually exclusive ideas: we can do both!
